Ex-stalwarts re-ignite DK
DUDLEY Kingswinford's new first-team coaches Neil Shillingford and Mark Lockley got off to a great start as they witnessed their relegation-threatened side win away at promotion rivals Longton.
The duo, who both excelled on the pitch for Dudley during distinguished careers, have moved up from their roles as coaches of the Colts side.
The pair replace Mark Wilson who resigned in December with DK sitting bottom of Midlands Division One.
Club spokesman, Peter Stinton said: "One thing is certain these two uncompromising characters will demand, and no doubt, get 100 per cent commitment from the DK squad."
Their first game in charge pitted their mis-firing charges against their second-placed Staffordshire rivals with a home win looking odds-on.
But unpredictable nature of sport was highlighted again as the visitors ran out 12-3 winners.
DK have no game this weekend so the new management pair will be in charge of their first Heathbrook encounter when they host South Leicester on Saturday January 19.
