WORCESTERSHIRE Royals are likely to be without Daryl Mitchell when they visit Somerset Sabres tomorrow for a Friends Provident Trophy match (12pm).
The all-rounder, who was enjoying his best spell in one-day games, was hit by a short ball to the elbow yesterday in the LVCC Division Two match against Gloucestershire and was taken for an X-ray.
The 24-year-old badly bruised his elbow and is a major doubt for tomorrow's game.
The Evesham-born all-rounder is likely to be replaced by Stephen Moore.
Pace bowler Kabir Ali is also back in the squad after recovering from a hamstring injury with Richard Jones likely to miss out.
The Royals will be looking to continue their good form in the South/West Division after two wins over Glamorgan Dragons and Hampshire Hawks moved them into second place in the table behind Gloucestershire Gladiators.
With the top two teams progressing to the quarter-finals, the Royals are facing a make-or-break eight days with three away matches.
After tomorrow, Worcestershire take on Hampshire at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday and visit Glamorgan next Sunday.
