Sweet revenge as Tivi's 100 per start continues

TIVIDALE had Midland Alliance officials thumbing through the record books this week after reeling off their 11th straight win when beating Coventry Sphinx 2-1.
It was a case of sweet revenge for Tividale after Sphinx knocked them out of both ther FA Cup and FA Vase earlier in the season.
Tividale boss Stuart Scriven couldn’t hide his delight.
He said: “They’d got a bit of hoodoo over us and we wanted to restore some pride. I felt we never gave a proper account of ourselves in the cup games and it was time to put the record straight.”
Two goals from Nathan Waite sealed victory but Tividale should have won by a wider margin as both Ryan Winwood and Karl Edwards struck the post, while Stuart How hammered the crossbar.
Both sides were reduced to 10, Sphinx having their goalkeeper sent off before Karl Edwards was given a red card as well.
Scriven said: “Their goalkeeper was dismissed for deliberate handball outside the box, while Karl was alleged to have used his elbow.
“Both sendings-off came within the space of three-and-a-half minutes, so there was no advantage to be had.
“My main concern now is to make it 12 straight wins when we entertain Causeway United at Packwood Road on Saturday. I want to keep our 100 per cent league run going as long as possible”.
Scriven is also hoping to add one time Blues striker Charles Wilson to his squad in time for Causeway.
Wilson is currently on Gresley Rovers books but has previously played in the Conference for Vauxhall Motors.
