THE wet weather couldn’t prevent a number of key fixtures taking place in the Dudley and Cradley Leaque this week.

There was a cruial contest in the Thornleigh Freight Trophy where top sides Bush Athletic and Britannia clashed.

A close contest followed with Bush taking the lead through Adam Harris before Dan Tipper levelled.

The match eventually went to extra time where Bush came out on top 2-1 thanks to Scott Foster’s late winner.

Halesowen Members also progressed after beating Hadcroft Rovers 5-2.

Nathan Telford and Scott Robinson both struck for the Halesowen side with Lewis Jones making it five, with Dave Chambers and Brian Jones replying.

Coseley Tavern had a much tighter affair before finally beating Lloyds 5-4.

Stuart Hillman and Ben Scriven put Coseley 2-0 ahead at half time.

Both sides exchanged goals after the break, Jason Witts netting twice for Lloyds who also had Ryan Witts and Ashley Wallington on target, but further goals from John Shaw, Damien Lock and a second by Hillman was enough to see Coseley home.

Pensnett United pulled off a 4-2 win over Sedgley White Lion following a goalless first half.

Jamie Woodhall put Sedgley ahead and Steve Weaver slotted home a second goal, but Pensnett finished the stronger side with goals from Alex Perry, Martin Hill, Joe Lawley and Shaun Saunders.

Dudley Borough beat Willenhall Three Crowns 3-2 in the Premier Division thanks to goals from Alex Wilnchurch, Matt Holmer and Dan Williams, while Malt Dudley defeated King William 2-1.

In Division One, Bunch beat Forest Falcons 3-2 after coming from a goal down with 10 men.
