LYE Town boss Martin Thomas expects more twists and turns as his side battle for the West Midlands Premier League title.

Second placed Lye are one point behind leaders Shawbury United after drawing 0-0 last Saturday when away to third placed Sporting Khalsa.

Thomas feels his side should have won the game and said they will be looking to bounce back when they take on Willenhall Town at home this Saturday (3pm ko).

He said: "We played well and had three chances cleared off the line. Even though I think we should have won, it is clear that there will be many more twists and turns along the way.

"Shawbury are now top and will be looking behind them. They are the team with that burden on their shoulders now, let's see how they cope.

"We have been in this position last season and that experience will only benefit us this time around.

"We are keen to bounce straight back and will be fired up for Saturday's game against Willenhall," he added.

Thomas has also said that his new-look strike force is showing signs of becoming a dangerous unit.

Returning forward Ricky Anslow started up front with Kevin Nickle and new addition James Spray last weekend. Steve Weaver also came off the bench to feature.

"There is good signs there already," said Thomas. "All four of them now need to start to form a partnership and be able to work together.

"All of them will have a big part to play for us."
