DUDLEY Sports boss Tony Gore has set his players the challenge of making sure they don't get dragged into a relegation battle.

His side now travel to Bilston tonight (7.45pm ko) and take on Wednesbury away on Saturday (7.45pm ko). Gore thinks the games will give his squad a much-needed opportunity to get some points on the board to keep them away from the drop zone.

He also said his players were ready for action after last Saturday's game at Bewdley was called off, giving them a much-needed break after facing four matches in quick succession.

"We now have two tough away games, but I really want us to start picking up a few points. We need to make sure we don't get dragged into a relegation battle," said Gore.

"The teams below us have had a few good results recently and it means we need to respond to that."

He also said he was confident that his players have the ability to win more games.

"We have had some great results against the top teams this season," he added. "We have beaten Sporting Khalsa, Black Country Rangers and drawn with Lye. We clearly have the ability but just need to add consistency to that. Hopefully that can start with the next run of games."

Gore added that he would look at rotating his small squad or bringing in some new faces to help his players cope with the forthcoming fixture congestion.
