DUDLEY Sports are hoping their season is far from over as they prepare for a quarter-final cup clash this week.

They will take on either Black Country Rangers or Malvern Town as they look to secure a semi-final place in the Premier Division Cup tomorrow night.

Manager Tony Gore said: "Now that the league season has finished we can put everything into the cup clash.

"Whichever team we play we will be the underdogs. That means there is no pressure on us and we can give it our all to keep our season going even longer.

"Even though it will be a tough ask, it is great to still have something to play for when most other teams have finished."

Dudley will welcome back a number of returning players for the clash.

Sports completed their West Midlands Premier Division campaign with a 17th place finish.

They failed to back up a fine derby victory against rivals Dudley Town the previous weekend when losing 6-0 away to Bewdley Town last Saturday.

"It was a disappointing result," added Gore. "We had a lot of players missing for the game but still shouldn't have lost how we did. We are keen to put the game behind us now the season has finished.

"It is all about the cup game now. If we play well we could find ourselves one game away from a final."
