STOURBRIDGE have taken on former Walsall defender Alex Dallison as they prepare for next season.

Dallison agreed terms with the Glassboys after being released by the Bescot outfit. He made three appearances for Walsall's reserves as well as 14 for the club's youth team last campaign.

Six more players who were part of the 2013/14 squad have also committed themselves to the Amblecote club, including two from Stour's successful youth team squad.

Leon Broadhurst, Jordan Fitzpatrick, Drew Canavan and George Washbourne will all be on board after agreeing terms with manager Gary Hackett.

Also coming into the first team squad will be Sam Tye, who made a number of substitute appearances in the second half of last season and was in the starting line-up for the Worcestershire Senior Cup tie against Evesham United, and Josh Morgan-Parker, both of whom made significant steps under Dave King last season.

A player who won't feature for Stour next season is Joel Kettle.

The defender, 23, who played for the club at the end of last season, has now been snapped up by Halesowen Town.

The additions to the squad come as the Glassboys prepare to go north next season.

They have been moved to the Northern Premier Division along with local rivals Halesowen Town.

It has been confirmed by the Football Association that they will be transferred for 2014/15 season after initially being placed in the Southern Premier.

The move results from a re-shuffle of the pyramid brought about by Worksop Town's resignation from the league after the provisional line-ups had already been announced.

As part of the move, Corby Town will return to the Southern Premier.

One pair of fixtures that both sides will be eagerly anticipated will be against FC United of Manchester. Formed by disgruntled supporters of Manchester United in 2005, they have fought their way up from the North West Counties League Division One and were narrowly beaten to the Premier Division title by Chorley last season.
