GRANGE Athletic had a season to remember by securing an historic cup treble.

The club, which plays at Somers Sports and Social Club in Grange Hill, Halesowen, had its most successful season in its 31 year history in the Kidderminster and District Sunday League.

The 2013/14 campaign saw the club win the Kidderminster and District Senior Cup by beating Haden Rangers 5-0 in the final. They also claimed the Worcestershire County Sunday Premier Cup when beating Redditch Utd's Sunday side 6-1 and then took home the Kiddeminster Fire Shield when again overcoming Haden Rangers in the final 4-3 on penalties.

The success means Athletic are now one of only two clubs throughout the Midlands Counties to have won both of the highest ranked trophies available in Sunday football, having added this year's Worcestershire County Premier Cup honours to the Birmingham County Sunday Premier Cup they won in 2005.

Chairman Neil Beasley said: "We are incredibly proud of our success, which was made even harder having to play all three cup finals within 10 days at the end of the season, and with another semi-final sandwiched in between.

"It is a fantastic achievement from the players. We weren't too far off league success as well. However, with so many games to play at the end of the season it is a credit to everyone at the club to have won as many trophies as we did.

"I really need to thank our sponsors for all their support this year, especially Dean and Sharon Nock from The Rose and Crown in Halesowen."
