PENSNETT United claimed a 4-2 away victory over Bunch in the Dudley and Cradley League's Ray Turley Memorial Competition last Sunday.

In a very fast paced first half, it was Pensnett that quickly took a two goal lead inside the first 10 minutes. First Terry Hurley and then Brian Hickman struck for the visitors.

Bunch then settled down and bought the game level with two quick goals of the own, both scored by Mitchell Ward.

However, on the stroke of half time Aaron Lloyd regained Pensnett’s lead.

Bunch came out of the blocks at the start of the second half with all guns blazing and the scoreline could have soon looked a lot different had it not been for some excellent saves from the Pensnett goalkeeper.

As the game was drawing to an end, the final blow was struck by Pensnett when Shane Bennett scored with a great strike.

In the same competition, Hasbury Rangers beat Saracens Head 3-1.

This was the first meeting for the two new teams in the Premier Division. It was Hasbury who opened the scoring on 10 minutes when Greg Cashmore scored from the halfway line when the keeper misjudged the flight of the ball and it went over his head and into the net. Hasbury grabbed two late goals in the first half from Alex Bright and Jordan McGovern.

Saracens Head came out strong after the break and Asif Ahmed reduced the deficit when he danced round the Hasbury defense and planted the ball into the net. Saracens Head continued to pile on the pressure for the rest of the second half but could not break down a resilient Hasbury defence.

Hope Tavern beat Coseley Tavern 5-2.

In a superb end-to-end game between two well-matched sides, it was Hope that ran out winners. Barry Taylor scored for the on five minutes before Stuart Hillman scored for Coseley on 40 minutes.

Jason Chilton gave Hope the lead once more on the stroke of half time.

Danny Smith and Geoff Hill scored quick-fire goals just after the 50 minute mark to take Hope away from Coseley.

Stuart Hillman got his second for Coseley after 78 minutes but Jason Chilton then hit another of his own for Hope on 83 minutes.

Sedgley White Lion beat King William 3-2.

In a competitive first half, it was Sedgley who broke the stalemate with a superb long range goal from Stuart Hingley that clipped the underside of the bar and went in.

King William drew level early into the second half with Simon Pritchard poking the ball home from close range.

Sedgley took the lead again with a goal from Stephen Smith, who saw the King William 'keeper was off his line and lobbed him from inside his own half.

Sedgley increased their lead when Richard Gwent scored with a left footed rocket to give the King William 'keeper no chance.

King William scored on the stroke of full time and then pressurised Sedgley for the 10 minutes of injury time but could not equalise.

In the Dalley Cup, Dudley Borough United put five past Forest Falcons without reply.

In a very tight first half both teams created chances but neither could find the net.

However, as the second half went on Falcons seemed to ease off and Dudley took full advantage with two goals from Dave Caller and one each from Dave Clarke, Ed Davies and Al Jeavons.

Hadcroft Rovers and High Acres K'ford drew 2-2.

In a very lively match it was Hadcroft who took the spoils of the first half with goals from Chris Smith on 32 minutes and Sam Seex on 42 minutes.

Straight after the restart, High Acres were awarded a penalty that Ash Baker converted.

On 60 minutes, High Acres had a bit of luck when a shot was deflected to wrong foot the Hadcroft keeper.

Lloyds beat Old Lark 6-0.

In a fairly one sided game Old Lark did little to trouble Lloyds. Lee Witts opened the scoring with a great 25 yard shot. Ben Perry scored Lloyds second before half time.

Jason Witts hit a quick second half hat-trick Before Ben Perry got his second of the game to complete the scoring.

Barley Mow Wanderers beat Roebuck 3-0 away from home.

Roebuck started the match lively and a forced two good saves from the Barley Mow 'keeper before Jon O’Keeffe scored from the spot for Barley Mow.

The second half was an even battle until Barley Mow increased their lead on 75 minutes when they broke out quickly and Mark Clifford finished well from 20 yards. On 79 minutes Ben Slater headed in Barley Mow’s third.
