GORNAL got back to winning ways after back-to-back defeats against AFC Wulfrunians and Tividale with an impressive display at Dudley Sports.

The visitors rushed into an early 3-0 lead within 17 minutes and, at one stage, threatened to run up a cricket score.

Gregg Gray opened the scoring on 11 minutes, smashing home a volley from 15 yards after Sports cleared a free kick.

And the same player doubled the lead just 60 seconds later, taking advantage of some lax defending to compose himself and slot home.

Then, on 17 minutes a 40 yard free kick into the Sports box by Richard Young eluded everybody, including keeper Samuel Pearson, and bounced into the back of the net.

Brave defending among the Sports ranks denied Gray a ten minute hat-trick before things went from bad to worse for the home side when centre-half James Taylor was forced to withdraw with injury.

Dudley Sports pulled a goal back early in the second half through skipper Mark Gore before a poor challenge by Steve Bull on Gurd Wilkhoo led to a second yellow card and dismissal.

Even with ten men the home side continued to battle although it was Gornal who restored their three goal advantage on 69 minutes when Matt Martin, making his league debut for the Peacocks, picked out Jake Morgan perfectly in the box and the striker made no mistake with the header.

Another excellent cross by the debutant on 79 minutes found Marvin Nesbitt who also nodded home, only to see the linesman flag for offside.

Dudley Sports finished the game on a high, however, as deep into stoppage time Kevin Vogeli robbed Paul Henley of possession and lobbed Gornal James Pemberton with a shot that crashed in off the underside of the crossbar.
