BRIERLEY and Hagley Celtic under 11s capped off a memorable season by beating Phoenix Youth 2-0 in the Stourbridge and District cup final at the Dell Stadium on Sunday.

Joe Shaw grabbed both goals, while Nathan Owen was named man of the match as Celtic sealed an impressive treble - having already won the league and South Staffs Cup - the first time a team has achieved the triumph in nine years.

Last week Celtic also eased past Netherton Colts 2-0 in midweek thanks to goals from Joe Dudley and Richard Hanson and defeated Kingswinford 3-1 with strikes from Shaw (2) and Harrison O'Brien.

Halas Hawks

Boys League: The U10s Dynamos defeated local rivals Hasbury 6-0 to secure runners up position in the Stourbridge and District Youth League Division 2, goals coming from Jake Saxton, Reece Colley, Alex Gardener, Jack Blunt and two goals from man of the match Connor Smith.

The U10s West enjoyed mixed fortunes as they ended the season with a win and a defeat. A 2-0 midweek victory over Forest Falcons saw Aaron Leddington and leading scorer Cameron Milne find the target but Hawks were brought down to earth with a bump as they suffered a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Penn Colts at the weekend.

Milne finished the season with 21 goals.

The U11s travelled to top of the table Old Wulfrunians knowing only a win would give them the Division 2 title and despite having chances to score they had to settle for a 0-0 draw and the runners up spot.

Girls League: Abigail Gennard scored the only goal as the U10s East completed their season with a hard fought league win against a strong Dudley United side. Fantastic goalkeeping by Ffion Jones ensured Halas remained unbeaten throughout the season.

The U11s secured a spot in the Merit Shield final with a thrilling 4-2 win over Gornal. Two early goals from Sophie Blount put Halas in front before Gornal pulled one back before half time.

Jessica O'Sullivan restored the two goal advantage just after the break only for the visitors to score again, Amy Blakemore eventually calming any nerves as she bagged a fourth for Hawks.

The U13s enjoyed a goalfest as they defeated Angels 6-3. After the opposition took the lead, Bethany Ingram equalised before Megan Ingram netted her first of two to give Halas the lead only for Angels to level at 2-2 just before the break.

Second half goals from Sophie Kinsey, Lauren Taylor and a first of the season from player of the match Chloe Cameron ensured the win.

The U16s pulled off a remarkable comeback as they came from 4-1 down to eventually beat Penn 6-4.

Rebekah Trevis-Smith netted a hat-trick with the other goals coming from Shanice Mayers, Pascal Windross and Laura Tomlinson. The team is now looking for new players for next season. Anyone interested should ring 07762 525970.

Kewford Eagles

The U13s East suffered Stourbridge and District cup final heartbreak for the second year running as they went down 3-0 to Old Wulfrunians at the Dell Stadium on Sunday.

There was some consolation for captain Jake Perry who was awarded with the man of the match trophy.

Romsley Rangers

The U15s clinched the Stourbridge & District Division 1 title with a game to spare after a tense victory over Phoenix Youth was enough to overhaul rivals Priory Rangers.

Romsley missed a string of chances before the game was finally won when skipper Scott Baker powered home a header.

Blackheath Town

The U15s ensured they finished their Division 3 season unbeaten with two away victories.

Last Thursday they travelled to Forest Falcons and gained three points with a 7-1 win thanks to goals from Jack Jefferson (2), Alex Apati (2), Matt Gethen (2) & John Richards (1).

On Sunday they travelled to Pensnett Panthers and came away with a 5-0 win thanks to a Jefferson hat-trick and two from Gethen.

The result meant Town had won all but one of their fixtures in their first season together as a team, scoring 142 goals and conceding just 17.

Forest Falcons

The U11s West made it through to the final of the Merit Shield with a 4-1 win at home to Wombourne Olympic with goals courtesy of Miles Stamps (2), Jack Pirie and Connor Mills - who was also named man of the match.
