HALAS Hawks U10s Dynamos ended their season on a high note as they won a seven-a-side tournament at Bentley Youth.

The youngsters were unbeaten all day and never conceded a goal on their way to becoming champions.

The group stages began with a 2-0 win over Silverdale, before they hit six past Salisbury Rangers, five past Hawkin Sports and drew with Rugeley Rangers and Lane Head.

In the semi-final they beat previously unbeaten Smethwick Youth 2-0 to progress to the final against Lane Head.

Goalkeeper Anthony Cowdell was then the hero as he saved a last-gasp spot-kick in the final with the game goalless. With both sides failing to find the net in extra time the game went to penalties with Halas evetually prevailing 2-0.

Dalmar Morrison was the Hawks top scorer on the day as he bagged nine goals. Jack Blunt, Lewis Bryan and Jordan Boffey hit two each.

Halas Hawks will be holding their own five-a-side tournament on July 4 and 5. The tournament is in its 20th year and attracts teams from all over the Midlands. Anyone wishing to enter can obtain an entry form from Bob Hickman 0n 01384 637912 or from the Halas web site www.halashawks.co.uk
