HALESOWEN'S junior athletes travelled to Nunnery Wood last Sunday for their Heart of England League Division Two meeting.

The club finished third overall behind Worcester and Kidderminster and Stourport.

There were a number of solid performances and events where certain athletes shined. Under 17 athletes dominated the 100m races with Charles Hilliard winning the A race in 11.6 and Evan Corbett the B race in 12.4.

Further success in the 100m sprints came through Harvey Warmington-Christmas who ran a PB of 12.9 in the u13 A race with Ben White winning the B in 14.5. Cara Clarke won the u15 100m in 13.6 and Alex Beardmore won the senior women’s race in 12.8.

The 200m competition saw wins for Charles Hilliard in the u15 competition (23.4), Billy Lowndes (u17 B race 24.8), Ryan Shiffy (u15 B race 26.1), Ben White (u13 B race 30.4), Lauryn Elliott (u15 B race 29.1) and Tate Hendrickson (u13 B race 30.2).

Millie Carke won the u15 300m A race with a PB of 46.3. Sam Mannings ran 1.57.1 to win the u11 600m A race with Max Price winning the B in 2.01.7.

The 800m races saw wins for both the u15 girls with Abigail Saker taking the A win in 2.26.8 and Livvy Worth the B win in 2.29.4. Abigail also won the 75m hurdles B competition in 18.3.

In the field events Katrina Simpson won the u15 girls high jump with a PB of 1.58.

In the u15 boys competition, James Andrews jumped a PB of 5.38 to win the long jump, jumping almost a metre further that the second placed Worcester athlete. U13 Alexander Johnson was the only athlete to clear four metres in the B competition with 4.02. Cara Clarke jumped 4.83 in the u15 girls competition to take the win.

Lee Wright threw nearly four metres more than the others in his u15 shot put event, taking the win with a PB of 12.24. Ryan Shiffy won the B in 11.13. Cara Clarke threw 7.95 to win the girls u15 A competition.

Lee Wright went on to also win the Discus competition throwing seven metres further than anyone else (32.19). Chloe Fitpatrick took the win in the u17 competition with a PB of 17.69.
