TIVIDALE are set to embark on probably their most testing week to date since arriving in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League.

Ian Long takes his side to Romulus, who play on Sutton Coldfield Town’s 3G pitch, on Saturday.

Then it is the little matter of the unbeaten Division One South title favourites Leek Town coming to The Beeches on Tuesday evening.

Speaking ahead of last night’s FA Cup replay at home to Stafford Rangers, Long says he is trying not to look too far ahead.

“They are both tough games for different reasons. The game on the 3G pitch is not ideal but we do have experience of it as we trained on one in the summer and we will get there early and try to have a more extended pre-match warm up to get used to the surface.

“Then it’s Leek - they are title favourites and are unbeaten and they go about things very professionally.

“I know they came down and had us watched in the previous round of the FA Cup which means they are doing things the right way.”

To add a little spice to the Romulus clash the home side have made an approach for Tiverton’s Jazz Luckie.

“I’ve spoken to Jazz and he says he is happy here, so hopefully it’s just them testing the water,” said Long. “So I’m hopeful Jazz will be staying put.”
