CHAIRMAN Colin Brookes has targeted Halesowen Town's home form as an area for improvement.

Brookes thinks the hard-working Yeltz could really make an impression as the season draws on if they could add victories at The Grove to their solid away showings.

Halesowen's poor home form continued as they somehow rescued a point against King's Lynn on Tuesday night.

The visitors were guilty of failing to turn their first half dominance into more goals before Chris Lait struck with just three minutes left to earn the Yeltz a 1-1 draw.

The stalemate, which came on the back of Saturday's 4-0 away win against Matlock, still leave Hales without a home league win this campaign.

Brookes said: "We are getting great support from the fans and it would be brilliant if we could get a few wins for them.

"If we add that to our away form then we will be in a better position as the season goes on.

"However, I can't fault the players because they always give it their all."

Against King's Lynn, time and time again Halesowen failed to enjoy any sort of possession as forwards Ben Haseley and Iyseden Christie were left isolated.

It was King's Lynn that started the brighter and made their early pressure pay in the 19th minute when George Thompson played a nice ball over the top for Michael Flew to lob over the advancing Matthew Sargeant.

However, with the visitors failing to edge away from their hosts, the Yeltz were always in with a chance of getting something from the contest as the game drew to a close.

That happened in the 87th minute when Tilt fed Lait out wide on the left flank. He cut inside, beat his man and hit a low shot into the bottom corner via a deflection off defender Jackson Ramm.

Halesowen will travel to Conference North side Guiseley this Saturday in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

"It is a very difficult tie for us," added Brookes. "It will be a massive achievement to get through. But this is the FA Cup and anything can happen."
