CRADLEY Heathens have reluctantly released Tom Perry and Danny Phillips from their team plans for the 2015 season.

Perry, a club asset who started his career with the club in 2010, is a casualty of team rebuilding under the new 36-point limit and will now join local rivals Birmingham. Phillips has linked up with Stoke.

Perry said: “I want to thank the Cradley management for everything they have done for me and wish them well for the 2015 season.

“It was brilliant for me to win the league and cup with the team this year, it was a tough year for me in speedway but it means a lot to say I won the league with Cradley.

“Now my attentions turn to Birmingham and it’s a nice move for me to stay local.”

The management of Cradley Heath Speedway thanked both riders for their efforts and wished them both a successful 2015 season – apart from when the Brummies and Potters face the Heathens.

Cradley have already announced the signings of Nathan Greaves, Luke Harris, Mike Neale and Ellis Perks – and the club’s new captain will be unveiled at their Christmas Party this Friday night.

The event takes place at Cradley Heath Liberal Club and will also feature live music, a raffle and auction of excusive Heathens memorabilia.

Tickets are £5 and are available from the club shop, Printworx on Quarry Bank High Street (Closed Wednesday). Any remaining tickets will be available on the door but only 30 remain.
