HOPE Tavern secured the Dudley and Cradley League’s Premier Division title with victory over third-placed Sedgley White Lion.

The 7-1 home win capped an excellent season that has seen Hope unbeaten in the league by scoring 110 goals and conceding only 20.

Against Sedgley, first half goals came from Lee Brown Lee Chilton and Danny Smith.

Sedgley pulled one back with a goal from Chris Perry then Hope replied with four from Barry Taylor, Richard Price, Nathan Corbett and Jason Chilton.

Hope Tavern have one match left to play this season when they come up against Coseley Tavern, who are the only team to beat them this season, in the Dudley Guest Hospital Cup final at Dudley Sports on Sunday, May 10.

Meanwhile, King William beat Saracens Head 7-0 at home.

King William opened the scoring when Charlie Nettleford slotted the ball under the Saracens keeper 15 minutes in.

Lewis Barfoot drilled a second home from a 30 yard free kick.

Nettleford got his second and King’s third with a half volley from in the 18 yard box to make it 3-0 at the break.

Jason Parkes scored King William’s fourth before Sunny Bains then slammed the fifth.

James Lee got William’s sixth and Bains got his second and King’s seventh with the goal of game when lobbing the Saracens Keeper.

In Division One, High Acres K’ford bagged a 2-1 home win against Barley Mow Wanderers.

This was a typical end of season game with both sides having nothing to play for.

In a slow first half, it was just before the interval that things picked up when Barley Mow took the lead with a goal from Adam Kennedy.

High Acres were quick to reply when Dale Whitehouse converted a spot kick.

The second half saw both teams attack and create chance after chance but the only one that was taken was when Dale Whitehouse scored a spectacular 25 yard strike.

Lloyds smashed 10 past Old Lark without reply in the division’s other fixture.
