NEW skipper Tom Kohler-Cadmore says Himley are too good not to be winning matches.

A disappointing start to the new season saw them lose for the fourth consecutive time at home to Leamington last Saturday.

The defeat leaves them propping up Division One of the Birmingham League following on from last year's relegation.

However, Kohler-Cadmore thinks the ability of Himley's squad will see them to their first win sooner rather than later.

"A win is not far off," he said. "Confidence is still there and we have players that are capable of winning games.

"We just need to put it all together.

"We have been unlucky at times already. We haven't won a toss yet and the weather has also gone against us at times.

"There were some really encouraging performances, both with the bat and ball, last weekend and we now need to build on that.

"It is clear that this side is too good not to be winning games. We are close to putting that right, especially if we can get a few partnerships working for us."

Against Leamington, Himley were bowled out for 220 after being put into bat by their visitors.

Mike Jones, batting at six, top scored for the hosts with 45 before being caught off the bowling of Mohammed Faisal Khalid, who ended with a five wicket haul for 42 runs.

Himley made a good start to their reply in the field as Leamington opener Shahbaz Alam was removed for just seven.

However, fellow opener Zack Fagg (43) and number three Ollie Currill (50) soon set the visitors on their way.

They eventually reached their target in the 46th over.

Kohler-Cadmore is now targeting a first win of the season away at second-from-bottom Moseley this Saturday.
