STOURBRIDGE boss Gary Hackett says he is targeting three or four more additions after he made his first signing of the summer.

The Glassboys have moved quickly to capture midfielder Lee Chilton from Leamington.

The exciting 28-year-old can play as an attacking midfielder or wide player and has an eye for goal.

He joined Leamington during the latter part of the 2011/12 season after featuring for Halesowen Town and Tividale earlier in that campaign. He went on to play a significant role in the Brakes' Southern League Premier Division title success of 2012/13 and has since had two full seasons playing in the Conference North.

He previously had a brief spell at the Memorial Ground in 2009 but left without playing a competitive game.

Hackett said: "Lee Chilton should be a really good addition for us. He is a local lad and knows what it takes to get out of this league.

"He has had three very good seasons before joining us and is experienced at Conference level

"He also has a fantastic attitude, is a workaholic and can chip in with a few goals as well.

"We will now continue to talk to our existing players about who will stay with us. I would then like to make three or four more signings going into the new season.

"We can't dwell on a poor season any longer. We now need to be positive and I really believe this team will hit the ground running when the action starts again."

Meanwhile, Stour have announced that Steve Fellows and former winger Ian Hathaway have both been appointed to posts with the club's youth team for the 2015/16 campaign.

Fellows, who has been involved with the junior section at the club, will take on the role of coach following the departure of Jon Purdie last month to become first team manager at Bilston Town.

Hathaway, who played for Stourbridge in the late 1980s before moving on to a full-time career with Mansfield Town, Rotherham United, Torquay United and Colchester United, will also assist on the coaching side as well as behind the scenes.

The duo will work alongside the existing team of manager Dave King, assistant Gary Brown and goalkeeping coach Steve Meeson.

At the youth team’ s presentation evening last weekend awards were made to Lewis McPike as top goalscorer, central defender Dan Brindley, who won the manager's player of the year, and Brindley’s defensive partner Jacob Wedderburn, who was named players' player of the year.

Stourbridge can look forward to more derby encounters with Halesowen Town next season after it was confirmed that both clubs would stay in the Northern Premier League.

The news follows the Football Association announcing the Step 1-4 constitutions for the 2015/16 season.
