OLD Hill captain Dan Cox says his young side will be able to learn a lot from this Saturday’s contest with Himley.

They welcome their rivals to Haden Hill (noon start) after an encouraging season so far.

Old Hill sit just one place above Saturday’s opponents in seventh position in Division One of the Birmingham and District Premier League.

However, despite their mid-table position, they are just 22 points off top spot.

Cox is looking forward to the challenge.

He said: “Both teams are quite similar and it should be a really good game.

“We both have some very good players that will make it interesting. Hopefully, we will get a good crowd to come and watch.

“Overall, we are very excited by the rest of the season. This league is very close and it means that anyone that puts a winning run together should be able to propel themselves into the mix.

“The game against Himley will give our players a chance to continue their improvement once again.

“They will be facing a good team but it will be a different experience for them once more and a match we can win if we can just make a few improvements.”

Old Hill are looking to return to winning ways after their trip to Wellington last Saturday was abandoned due to heavy rainfall. They had secured back-to-back victories before Bromsgrove left Haden Hill with a winning draw the weekend before the Wellington washout.
