DESEAN Martin and Shaquille Leachman-Whittingham have signed new deals with Tividale ahead of the new campaign.
The pair both made their first team debuts last season under former boss Ian Long, and new management duo Ross Thorpe and Phil Male have been impressed with them during pre-season.
Midfielder Martin was called up to the Monserrat squad earlier this year, while striker Whittingham became the first ever Tividale Football Academy player to feature for Tivi’s senior team in their 61 year history.
On signing his new deal, Martin said: “I’m delighted to be staying here at Tividale, this is the club that I enjoy playing my football and the club that’s helped my footballing development. I want to impress the new management team and try to get a place in the team.”
Forward Whittingham, added: “It’s nice that we’ve been made to feel so welcome by the coaching staff, and I can’t wait to get started. I feel I can play a big part this season. I understand we have some very good players but I’m confident that I’ll be a better player for a full pre-season with the squad.”
