TYLER Govier is set to keep his place in the Cradley side for next Wednesday’s Perry Barr clash with Buxton (7.30).

And the Devon racer is determined to stay in the side for the rest of the season after finally getting his opportunity.

He will ride on Wednesday followed by trips to Sheffield and King’s Lynn tonight and Friday.

“I’m really grateful to be getting my chance in the team, I’ve been waiting all season for this opportunity and now it’s finally arrived," Govier said.

“I just want to hold down a full time place, and I want to stay with the Heathens because I know the fans are backing me a lot which is amazing to see.

“I haven’t ever had this much support, and to have the fans behind you is something else.

“It’s a great club, I feel really lucky to have the chance to ride here and I just want to make the most of it now.

“I had a big crash in my first meeting which was a blow and I hurt my back, but luckily it wasn’t too serious and I was so pleased to get another chance.

“I was a lot more comfortable on the bike against Stoke, and to be honest I don’t think my points really reflected how well I rode.

“I was unlucky with bike problems in my last ride, and overall I was really happy with the way things went.

“It’s not easy coming in halfway through the season when I haven’t been riding too much, so I know I need to be patient and just take it step by step.

“The more I ride at Perry Barr the more the points will come, and I’m sure things will all come together.”

Meanwhile the club have confirmed top stars Ashley Morris and Josh Bates for the F.A.S.T Golden Hammer at Perry Barr on August 12.

Admission for the showpiece individual event is free for children, £13 adults and £10 concessions.
