HIMLEY are preparing to hold their popular Black Country Floodlit T20 tournament.

This year’s event will run from Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28.

Wolverhampton and Stourbridge will do battle on Monday at 5.30pm, before Himley take on Brewood at 7.30pm.

The following day will see the winners of each match go head to head and the losers also face each other.

There will be more action on the Thursday before Friday’s final, which will take place at 6.30pm.

Last year’s winners Himley will be looking to retain their grip on the Joe Brandrick Trophy.

Entry is free and there are refreshments and parking available.

Meanwhile, Himley’s first team suffered defeat against Attock in Division One of the Birmingham and District Premier League last Saturday.

The visitors posted 197 from their 50 overs as opener William Fraine (44) top-scored with the bat.

In reply, Attock lost early wickets as Ryan Brown, Arfan Khan and Elliot Hopkin removed the top order to leave the hosts on 67-4.

However, Asim Khan (58 not out) and Zahoor Azam (72 not out) began the recovery job and eventually guided their side to success in the 47th over.

Himley will welcome Oswestry this Saturday (noon).
