DUDLEY Sports boss Tony Gore says his side must find more consistency.

Sports beat Ellesmere Rangers 4-2 at home last Saturday but followed it up with a disappointing 3-0 away defeat at Smethwick on Monday.

It means they have won two and lost three of their opening five games in the West Midlands League.

Gore said: "I just don't know what I will get from the lads.

"We went from putting in a really good performance against Ellesmere to the opposite against Smethwick.

"We conceded two late goals after we got sloppy against Ellesmere and then carried that into the next game.

"We were slack and untidy and again missed a lot of chances.

"The players have proved they are good enough at times but they just need to find more consistency. Hopefully we can start taking our chances as well."

Sports will now go to second-placed Wellington this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

"The way we have been from one game to the next, we'll probably go there and beat them," he added.

Sports have been hit with the news that Matt Holland will be missing for 12 weeks after suffering an ankle ligament injury.

Meanwhile, Dudley Town picked up their second win of the season when they put five past Gornal Athletic without reply on Monday.

A hat-trick from Shawn Devonport and strikes from Matt Postin and Leon Naylor made for a comfortable success.

The result was even more pleasing for the Robins as it saw them bounce back from a 6-1 loss at Pegasus Juniors last Saturday.
