GLASSBOYS boss Gary Hackett says his players are more than capable of causing another memorable FA Cup upset.

Stourbridge will face League One side Northampton Town at a sold out War Memorial Ground this Sunday (2pm kick-off) looking to make the third round of the famous competition for the first time.

The manager is looking forward to another big occasion at Amblecote.

He said: "This game is potential the biggest in the club's history. It is going to be a magnificent occasion for everyone connect to the football club, players, management and fans alike.

"Once again we have to create the biggest upset of the round, but I think it is something we have got the players capable of doing just that.

"We need to stay relaxed and really embrace the whole occasion and enjoy ourselves. These games don't come along very often so it's important we enjoy them.

"The players are capable of causing real problems for the opposition even though we will be massive underdogs.

"It will be important that we start quickly and really get the fans behind us again.

"It is about creating the atmosphere of the Whitehawk game in terms of performance, effort and heart. The fans were also fantastic and we want all of that again."

Hackett says the team will be preparing like any other game and won't be making any changes due to the special nature of the contest.

He added: "We have had all the offers come in for pre-match means, luxury travel, the lot. But we won't be doing any of that because we'll be treating the game like any other and keeping the players firmly focused on the job at hand."

Stour will be without the cup-tied Jordan Archer for Sunday's clash with the Cobblers and will have to assess a knee injury to Brad Birch ahead of the weekend.

Chris Lait should shake off a knock to feature.

The Glassboys go into the game with confidence after a 5-0 hammering of Workington last Saturday.

A double from Luke Benbow and strikes from Matt Dodd, Jack Duggan and Kayleden Brown made for a comfortable success.

"We've been threatening to do that for a while now," added Hackett. "It was a big game for us in the league and leaves us in a reasonably healthy place and within touching distance of those at the top."

Meanwhile, midfielder Connor Gater has had his loan deal with Stour extended until January 2, 2017.

The 24-year old has made a good impression at Amblecote since his move from Worcester City and was one of our stand-out players in the cup tie away at Whitehawk.
