BOSS Martin Thomas admits poor game management cost Lye Town at Long Eaton last Saturday.

Lye had led at half time thanks to Ben Billingham's strike in the 41st minute before a second half fightback from the home side saw them secure the points.

It was only the third time Lye has tasted defeat this season and Thomas wasn't too fazed by the set-back.

He said: "We didn't play well to be honest but sometimes you have to accept that.

"We have only lost three all season and there will be plenty of twists and turns yet.

"Teams do raise their game against us and that can make things difficult.

"We were well in control but should have managed the game a lot better. We went looking for more goals and left ourselves too stretched."

Lye were due to take on Quorn away last night before welcoming league leaders Alvechurch this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

That is the first of four home games in quick succession, including second-placed Coleshill a week later.

Thomas added: "Hopefully the fans will turn out in force for the next few home games. We have already beaten Alvechurch in the league this season and the cup game was close as well, so we'll just see what happens. It's no more important than any other game but it is one for everyone to look forward to."

Mark Danks and Scott Gennard are both suspended for the Alvechurch clash.

Thomas is still chasing a striker target but hopes a deal can be done next week.
