DEPLETED Cradley Town delighted manager Andy Wyton with a 3-2 triumph over Bewdley Town.

Cradley were missing a number of key players but their replacements rose to the occasion.

Carl Whyte came into the starting line-up and opened the scoring before Danny Crudgington increased the advantage from the penalty spot after new signing from Gornal Athletic Chris Brown, had been brought down.

Leading marksman Lewis Pountney pulled a goal back for Bewdley before their progress was hampered after having Simon Lloyd sent off.

Scott Glasby then sealed victory for Cradley with a third goal before Pountney pounced for his second deep into stoppage time.

Boss Wyton said: "The players did me proud and worked their socks off."

Wyton picked out the performances of Carl Whyte and central defender Ross Love who was returning to action following an eight week absence owing to work commitments.

He will be looking for his side to climb the West Midlands League table this week when they visit relegation threaten Dudley Sports on Saturday when they will be boosted by the return from suspension of top marksman Geoff Hill.
