GARY Hackett says Stourbridge will achieve their play-off aim if they can reproduce the performance levels shown against Hednesford on Monday night.

The Glassboys had to settle for back-to-back draws despite having the chances to take all three points at Keys Park. Luke Benbow fired home a late leveller for the visitors to make it 1-1 despite their domination.

Stour's trip to fellow play-off chasers Buxton also ended by the same scoreline last Saturday.

But Hackett has no concerns for his side's play-off ambitions if they can back up Monday night's showing He said: "Performance levels are key for me. If we can play at those same levels in our final few games then we'll pick up the points we need.

"We dominated from start to finish against Hednesford but we just couldn't take our chances or get that bit of luck we needed.

"Anyone who was at the game will know we could have scored four or five. Our aim is to reproduce that performance again.

"The players know what we need to do and are determined to give it everything in the final games. Someone could be on the end of a real beating soon if everything clicks into place for us."

Glassboys go to relegation-threatened Ilkeston this Saturday and the manager thinks the ability to select the same side in recent weeks has helped Stour to recapture their good form.

"I've finally been able to select the same side after a bad run of injuries and think that has been important," added Hackett.

"Continuity is a big thing, especially at this time in the season."

The boss also praised the impact of returning defender Stuart Pierpoint after an injury lay-off.

"He has a calmness about him and I think his presence has also brought out the best in Richard Sho-Silva as well. He brings leadership qualities as well and it is a good time for us to have Stuart back in the side."

Hackett's only injury troubles ahead of the weekend surround key winger Matt Dodd as well as long-term absentees Jack Duggan and Chris Lait. Duggan has now had surgery on his shoulder injury and Lait is awaiting an operation on his hip injury.

Dodd faces another two weeks on the sidelines but could be available for the run-in.
