OLD Hill remain bottom of Birmingham and District League Division Two after a losing draw against Harborne last Saturday.

Harborne were bowled out for just 154 in the rain-affected clash at Haden Hill after being put into bat by the hosts.

Nigel Davenport starred with the ball for Old Hill as he bagged a six-wicket haul to keep Harborne under pressure.

Davenport (6-47) and Aamir Manzoor (2-26) soon accounted for the visiting top order.

James Hunt, batting at four, steadied the innings for Harborne before he fell to Davenport just three runs short of his half century.

Daud Islam and Ravan Chahal picked up one wicket each to add to Davenport's haul.

However, once again, Old Hill's batting line-up failed to fire.

They were soon in big trouble at 28-5. Zahid Kafiat (27 not out) offered some resistance until the rain arrived.

The game was haled with Old Hill on 65-8 in the 28th over and facing defeat.

They will have to put in an improved showing when they face second-placed Fordhouses away this Saturday (noon start).
