How they rated:

Stourbridge 3, Alfreton Town 1

Gould: Another calm and calculated showing from the Stour stopper. Did well to collect balls into his box but wasn't called into action for long periods after Alfreton's red cards. 7.

Christophorou: The right back had a really good game for the home side. Solid in the air, quick to win the ball and made important bursts down the flank to support attacks. Drilled a couple of long range efforts over as well. 7.5.

Westlake: Much like Christophorou on the opposite side, he did his defensive duties well before getting forward to good affect. Also found space to work a few efforts at goal. He was adjudged to have handled in the box for Alfreton's goal but it looked harsh on the full back. Even if it did strike his arm it wasn't a deliberate act. 7.

Pierpoint: Top performance from the experienced campaigner. Won his headers and positionally sound. Though he had less to do due to Alfreton being reduced to nine men he made sure to have an impact in the opposition box when winning the header for Broadhurst to get the third. 7.5.

McCone: See Pierpoint. He too was solid and read the play to step in and win the ball on more than one occasion. He too had an impact at the other end when rising to head on for Green's goal. 7.5.

Forde: Deployed further forwards than Tonks and Broadhurst and took up a 'number 10' role in support of Jordan Archer. He did really well throughout and was key in Stour's early press. Great work-rate but also had the quality needed to link play. 8.

Dodd: A good afternoon for the Stour winger. Helped his side stretch the game against the nine men. Always an outlet but did miss one big chance at the end of the first half. A big part of keeping the visitors pegged back. 7.

Broadhurst: Another FA Cup game under his belt and another goal. Once more in the right place at the right time to provide a much-needed finish. Much like his midfield partners, he had to work hard to make sure Stour stayed on top against a determined Alfreton side that never gave up. 7.5.

Archer: Led the line well, especially in the first half. His pace and keenness to play on the shoulder was key to Tom Allen's early red. He was quick to get on the loose ball and always an option. Had another header saved in the second half and can hopefully recover quickly from the knock that forced him off late on. 7.

Green: Slotted in really well on the left side. Was able to offer good defensive cover but still pushed on to affect things in attack. His work rate was good and it was just the solid showing is manager would have wanted, capped with a goal too. 7.5.

Tonks: What a sublime free kick to get Stour ahead at just the right moment before Alfreton could settle and get men behind the ball. He won the ball back well in midfield but also fired passes out wide as Stour looked to dominate. He has wasted no time in hitting the ground running since his return. 8.

Subs:

O'Callaghan: Late replacement for Archer. N/A.

Rowe: Replaced goalscorer Green and was quick to get involved as Stour looked for the decisive third. 7.

Kiembi: Late change for Matt Dodd. N/A.

unused subs: Duggan, Cooke, Jeavons.
