HALESOWEN Cricket Club are delighted to announce that they have re-signed South African overseas player Dylan Ross-Watt for a further season.

Quick bowler Ross-Watt who took 52 wickets at 14.96 each and averaged 36.83 with the bat in the 2017 season was instrumental in the promotion title race and Hales have moved quickly to secure his services for the third season in a row.

Ross-Watt, 24, said: "I am delighted to be coming back in fact I don’t even view myself as the overseas visitor any more its just feels like my club to me. I have really enjoyed the whole experience of coming over here and learning more about the game. It was just a week ago that I was presented with the Players Player of the Year Award and the Fans Player of the Year Award and that says enough to me. I cant wait to get back."

Commenting on the signing, lead Coach Richard Cox said: "With Richard Brooker standing down at the end of the season we agreed a while back that continuity was key in as many areas as possible irrespective of whether we got promotion or not.

"We know we have been doing the right things for sometime now and sooner or later the rewards would come and they have. Part of that was getting the right type of people in place around the club and Dylan epitomises that. He has been instrumental in leading many aspects over the last one and half seasons and we think of him as a Halesowen boy now. Coupled with that is the personal performances he has achieved in the process which we are delighted with. We look forward to his return in 2018 knowing that he will kick on again."

Halesowen will now move on to the next task of assessing their plans for life in Division One following the promotion of the first team but also look at the make up of the other teams to build an even stronger future based on local and home grown players.
