MANAGER Tony Gore hailed Dudley Sports' best showing of the season as they bagged a vital point against Bewdley Town.

Goals from Richard Nicholson and Kieran Price helped Sports to a battling 2-2 draw last Saturday.

The point kept 16-placed Sports away from the West Midlands Premier League dropzone.

Gore said: "It was probably our best performance of the season.

"We were much better than in recent weeks and I really can't fault the work-rate and effort in any way.

"That work-rate is something we have lacked in recent weeks but I was delighted with the point.

"It stops the rot and we made them work very hard for their goals as well.

"One point can be massive at this stage of the season, especially with our nearest rivals losing.

"Hopefully we can take a lot of confidence from that."

Sports are due to take on Wolverhampton Casuals at Hillcrest Avenue on Tuesday night before travelling to AFC Bridgnorth this Saturday.

"We still have our own destiny in our own hands," added the boss. "We still have that cushion from the teams below us and can now look to build on the Bewdley point."

Dudley don't have any new injury concerns with only long-term absentee Joe Wilcox still struggling with an ankle injury.

Gore bolstered his ranks last week with the arrival of central midfielder Jack Lea from neighbours Tividale.
