A BRACE from Kyle Shepherd helped Gornal Athletic to a narrow victory over Allscott last Saturday.

The Peacocks made it back-to-back wins after following up their mid-week success over Tipton Town.

The Allscott win also leaves them in third-place of the West Midlands League Division One after they bounced back from the previous weekend's loss at Darlaston.

Boss Matt Fisher was pleased with the way his side have battled to their last two wins.

He said: "The last two games haven't been our most convincing wins but we got the job done.

"We have had to grind them out and stick to the task.

"We conceded early on at Allscott and had to work hard to break them down, which we ultimately did.

"It was important that we hit back after Darlaston."

Gornal will now welcome Old Wulfrunians to Garden Walk this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

"It would be great if we could get another big crowd down to support us again," added the manager.

"We are sitting in third place and want to end the season strongly."
