A KINVER biker is riding a wave of success after a string of impressive races.
Chris Ashfield finished third in the East Midlands Racing Association Minitwins championship.
Riding a Suzuki SV 650, he finished ahead of 25 other riders after the twelve race campaign.
He picked up one race win and had several second place finishes across the season.
Chris' previous best race finish had been ninth. He has been racing since 2014 but is a newcomer to the Minitwins class.
He said: "It was the first season on that bike so it was all new. I was not expecting to do that well. I seemed to take to it a lot more naturally."
The 24-year-old is currently studying a Mechanical Engineering degree at Cardiff University but is focused on improving his performance when the new season gets underway on March 11.
"If I can win the championship I would like to move up a class," he said.
Chris hopes one day to compete in the British Superbike championship but requires further sponsorship to help realise his dream.
"As you move up it costs more money," he added.
