GORNAL Athletic have bolstered their striking options by bringing Geoff Hill back to Garden Walk.

The Peacocks quickly snapped up the hitman as they prepare for the final months of the campaign.

Hill spent time at Athletic earlier in the season before moving to Cradley Town. He now makes the reverse switch following the departure of Hammers boss Andy Wyton.

Gornal manager Matt Fisher is delighted to welcome the forward back to the club.

He said: "I'm really happy with my squad at the moment and there aren't many players I'd want to bring in at this stage of the season, but Geoff Hill is one of them.

"No matter where he goes he is a Gornal lad and everyone is thrilled to have him back.

"I'm sure he'll score some important goals for us between now and the end of the season.

"I think it also sends a message out to the other teams in this league that we're are not done yet. We still want to win this league."

Gornal's game at home to Old Wulfrunians was postponed due to the heavy snowfall at the weekend.

They are due to face Bustleholme at Garden Walk in the Division One League Cup on Tuesday night before a trip to third-from-bottom side Kington Town this Saturday.

"Kington is always a tough place to go but I think the confidence is back and it's a game we're looking forward too," added Fisher.

The Peacocks have no new injury concerns but Russell Brookes will still be suspended following his sending off against Darlaston.
