DUDLEY College’s netball team ended the season on a high by winning the West Midlands College Second League.

They beat Shrewsbury Sixth Form 45-37 in the league's deciding match to claim the title and promotion to the West Midlands College’s top division.

The netball team, which are part of Dudley College’s competitive sports squad; Team Dudley, is made up of a range of Dudley College and Dudley Sixth first and second year students.

Coach Donna Marks, who has been coaching Team Dudley netball for five years praised his side's commitment, motivation and the enjoyment from the players.

Dudley College's sport development manager, Simon King, said: “We are all so proud of the girls and their achievements, they have put their all into this season and it has really paid off. I couldn’t even watch half the match against Shrewsbury as it was just too tense.”

One person who is keen to make an impact in League One next season is current Team Dudley netball captain Kaitlin Willets, who has been in the Team Dudley netball squad for two years, and has played in the England Colleges under-21s.
