A HAUL of key players who helped Halesowen Town to Northern Premier League survival have re-signed for the club.

Ahmed Ali joins Asa Charlton, Jack Kelly, Dan Platt, Lee Hughes and captain Danny Bragoli all agreeing to stay with the club as it transitions to the newly-created Southern League Central for the upcoming campaign.

Yeltz have beaten a number of clubs to keep hold of Ali, who made 12 appearances and scored three goals – including the winner in the number nine Derby at the Grove in March – following his move from Bromsgrove Sporting.

Manager John Hill said: “Both myself and [assistant] Matt Clarke are delighted to have secured the signing of Ahmed Ali for the forthcoming season, a signing that really shows our intentions.”

After agreeing to stay on at the club, Ali said: “I believe that things at Halesowen are going in the right direction and after coming in towards the end of last season I have felt great love and appreciation from everyone at the club.

“I have decided to stay on because I believe there is loads of potential at the club.

“I am aware the club has finished at the bottom half of the table in the last few seasons but I look forward to being part of the club in what will hopefully be a successful season.

“I urge everyone to get behind the management and players and who knows what kind of success is in store for us.”

Former Yeltz star and fans favourite Tom Warmer has also re-signed after moving back to the UK, while highly rated striker Nick MacPherson has made the move to Town.
