HALESOWEN Swimming Club continued to display the fine form they finished with last season as they returned from the summer break with a second place finish at the Braunstone Sports Trophy Gala.
All swimmers were fired up to do their best in their first team gala since July. With more than half of the swimmers achieving personal bests and over three quarters of the racers finishing in the top three positions the team secured the overall runners up spot.
Stephanie Hackett won both her events in the Ladies Open 100m individual medley and the 100m freestyle.
Richard Phillips was also a winner in the 100m butterfly.
First place also went to the ladies relay team consisting of Louise Williams, Leanne Taylor, Hannah Cuthbert, Josie Evans and Chloe Robbins. The men’s relay team of Marc Collett, Jack Watts, Oliver Jackson, Laurence Hickin, Robert Smith and Michael Edmonds flew through the water to finish the final race in first place.
