Dudley FC eased through to the second round of the Thornleigh Freight Trophy with a 4-2 win at Netherton Liberals Reserves.

This carried over first round tie was a possible banana skin for the premier division side but there was no need to panic.

Luke Moulton led the way with a brace with Paul Yates and Richard Crowton also getting on the scoresheet.

In the second round Gornal Baggeridge went through with a 2-0 home win over Tommy Turners.

Dudley Bush Old Boys were 4-1 winners at home to Servo Steels.

Dudley Borough met Harts Hill Laurel who offered little resistance as Borough won 8-3.

Pensnett United and Hurst Hill Tavern battled out a ten goal thriller with United edging the tie 6-4.

Sedgley Courthouse progressed following their 6-1 rout of Crown Netherton.

Nathan Markland picked up a hat-trick to put Courthouse on their way with Tom Bayliss, Mark Wilson and Dean Williams adding to the scoreline.

Crown's consolation goal was scored by Mark Poultney.

Wollaston Greyhound were made to go through extra time before they defeated Black Horse.

Matt Jewkes, Chris Reed and Richard Dalloway picked up two goals each to see Greyhound into round three.

Reardon Lewis and Cole(2) replied for Black Horse The days only premier division game provided Coseley Jockey beat Park Inn 2-0.

Division one action saw The Gate drop vital points to Netherton Sports who climbed to top spot with a 2-1 victory.

Goals from Anthony Blakeway in each half proved to be the difference between the two sides.

Gate replied with a strike from Adrian Burns.

Bushwackers climbed to third place just behind Oldbury Collier who they defeated 7-3.

Saltwells Inn remain near the foot of the table going down 7-2 against Saltwells Inn.
