HALESOWEN Cycling club’s junior riders continued their impressive form in the final round of the Midland Region of the Youth Track Omnium Series at Newcastle Under Lyme last Sunday.
This particular event unusual combined riders from the Northern and Midlands region, with results reflecting the positions in which the riders finished in their particular region.
Halesowen’s Josef Feiven and Thomas Biddle finished second and third respectively in the under-10 boys category. Harrison Baker came third in the under-12 boys category against some stiff competition, with Cameron Biddle and Ethan Davies claiming fifth and sixth in the same event.
In the under-14s boys category, Callum Ferguson and Sam Francks finished 9th and 10th riding against tough competition.
Emily Kay continued to dominate the under 14 girls competition winning all her races, while Angela Eggleton also rode well to claim 3rd place.
The under 16 boys event saw five Halesowen riders competing for the spoils, Tom Baker finishing third. James Locker, Tom Canning, Ted Bate and Jess Wieckowski finishing in seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth places respectively.
The National final due to be held at Manchester Velodrome on the 8th August promises to be a very close fought affair.
