KINVER travelled to Coseley in the Sunday Border League but left empty handed as they suffered a two wicket defeat.
After deciding to bat Kinver endured a shaky start when Ferrington and Smith were bowled in the first two overs, before the middle order of Taylor (58),Quinlan(36) and Southall (23) restored some respectability as the visitors reached 160 in the 40th over.
Kinver made an early breakthrough at the start of Coseley’s reply when 15 year old Elliot Hopkins bowled Rickett for eight. But this proved to be one of the few bright spots as Coseley reached their target with the loss of only two further wickets in the 26th over.
This Sunday Kinver entertain Netherton at Marsh Playing Field.
