Allin and Cole toast regional success

STOURBRIDGE Swimming Club are celebrating two new Midland Champions.

Scott Allin and Becki Cole clinched regional titles in the 50-metre backstroke and 100m backstroke respectively at the championships in Coventry.

Allin also took second place in the 200m backstroke and a third in the 100m, while Cole netted two silver medals in the women’s 50m and 200m backstroke events. The pair were among seven Stourbridge swimmers who qualified for the championships.

Rich Spoor just missed out in two nail-biting finishes to come second in 100m and 200m breaststroke.

Meanwhile, Nat Dingley competed in a marathon number of events including the 100m and 200m butterfly, the 50m, 100m 200m and 800m freestyle and the 200m backstroke, making the final of the 200m butterfly having only just completed his longest event.
