Old Hales eye revenge
11:40am Friday 28th January 2011 in Old Halesonians
OLD Halesonians will be looking to shake a nine month hangover when they entertain Walsall this weekend.
The Wassell Grove side go into the game with derby day revenge in mind after they were beaten by their rivals on the final day of last season.
That game was the day after their end of season party and skipper Chris Wagstaff admits his side were not in the best shape.
He said: “We had a nightmare against them.
“It was a rearranged game the day after our club dinner and there were some sore heads.
“They took full advantage of that but now is our chance to get our own back.”
Old Hales will be lookng for the double over Walsall after beating them 27-17 away earlier in the season.
Meamwhile Wagstaff was pleased with his side’s performance despite last Saturday’s 25-14 defeat to Sutton Coldfield and believes they were unlucky not to get more out of the game.
The result saw Hales stay fourth in Midlands One West though they lost ground on third placed Bournville.
Wagstaff added: “We did score a few points towards the end of the game but even then I don’t think the score was a fair reflection.
“We dominated the first half but could not get the points from it.”
