SUPER Stourbridge have moved to within two points of SSE National Division 2 North leadersw Darlington Mowden Park after slaughtering fellow title rivals Sedgley Park by a stunning 45-3 margin in North Yorkshire.

In what was one of Stour's best performances of the season, Neil Mitchell's men applied pressure from the word go and were rewarded with a complete performance.

Stour wrapped up the bonus point before half time after rattling up four tries.

Flanker Ejike Uzoigwe got the ball rolling with two trademark tries in the first half after getting on the end of a couple of driving mauls to touch down.

Loose head prop Mark George also added a try and the front row union continued to thrive with hooker Scott Wright also securing a score, two of which were converted by right wing Jamie Hearn to put Stour 24-0 ahead before Sedgley struck a consolation penalty from 50 metres out on the stroke of half time.

Stour steadily turned the screw after half time and further tries following from left wing Nathan Bressington, No.8 Drew Harper, plus a penalty try, all three of which were converted by Hearn.

In truth, Sedgley never looked like breaching a rock-solid Stour defence, with tight head prop Mike 'Cheese' Hill winning the man of the match plaudits.

Successive home games against Chester and Leicester Lions now follow as Stour look to stamp their authority on this season's title charge.
