WORCESTER Warriors are likely to exchange players with Birmingham Moseley this season as the two Midlands clubs look to form a strong bond.

The National One outfit, who boast Warriors’ breakdown coach Simon Cross in their backroom staff, will host the Sixways side on Friday (7.30pm).

Although Worcester are two levels higher than their opponents head coach Carl Hogg felt it “made sense” to arrange the friendly as they aim to strengthen their relationship.

Young centre Afeafe Haisila and promising lock Andrew Kitchener benefitted from loan spells at Billesley Common last season while Moseley back rower Buster Lawrence featured for Warriors in the Singha Premiership Rugby Sevens.

And with Cross joining Moseley as head coach this summer Hogg says he is hoping to see more players move between the two teams.

“We have got a relationship with Moseley where we want to help them and for them to help us,” he said.

“We can have players going back and forth like some of our academy players and the guys that are not involved with us.

“It makes sense for us to have a pre-season fixture against them as Simon is head coach across there now and we are trying to build this link with Moseley that will be beneficial for both parties.”
