WORCESTER Warriors will begin their season on Saturday at home to Wasps in the Premiership Rugby Under 18 Academy League at Sixways (1pm).

The young group will be looking to go one step further than the past couple of seasons when they have finished fifth at the academy finals day, beating Exeter Chiefs (2016) and Saracens (2017) at the end-of-season event.

Warriors’ campaign kicks off this weekend before trips to Northampton Saints and Leicester Tigers in January alongside a home game against Yorkshire Carnegie.

And February sees the youthful Warriors travel to Sale Sharks while also hosting Newcastle Falcons.

Sixways hosted the 2017 finals day and will once again be showcasing the country’s best young talent in the competition finale on Saturday, March 10.

And Warriors will be hoping to be there for the third year running later this season.

Warriors academy manager Chim Gale said: “We’ve got an exciting young group once again this season and they’re buzzing to get out there and play on the big stage at Sixways.

“We hope as many of you will come down and cheer on the next generation as we look to try to make it to finals day once again.”

Entry to Warriors’ under 18 matches is free for everyone.
