DIRECTOR of rugby Alan Solomons has made three changes to his Worcester Warriors side for Saturday’s Aviva Premiership clash with Newcastle Falcons at Sixways (3pm).

Chris Pennell and Sam Lewis return from knocks to make the starting line-up while Ryan Bower deputises for Ethan Waller who misses out with a shoulder problem.

Pennell forms the back three with Bryce Heem and Josh Adams while Jackson Willison and Ben Te’o start in the centres.

Bower joins Jack Singleton and Nick Schonert in the front row.

The back row sees Lewis slot back in next to David Denton and GJ van Velze.

Marco Mama is named on the bench and could make his first appearance since May 2017 following an MCL injury sustained in pre-season.

New signings Dorian Jones is on the bench too and could make his Warriors debut after impressing for Worcester Cavaliers in their emphatic win over Sale Jets on Monday.

Newcastle welcome back wing duo Sinoti Sinoti and Vereniki Goneva.

Dean Richards’ men boast the best away record in the league with six wins from their nine road trips with their only losses away from Kingston Park coming against the top three in Exeter, Saracens and Wasps.

Centre Josh Matavesi lines up against his former club for a Falcons side who have lost only one of their last nine Aviva Premiership outings.

But defence coach John Wells said: “Our record at Worcester isn’t great. The last time we won there was in our first season back from the Championship when Mike Blair snuck over and even on that day Worcester were all over us.

"Since then we’ve taken a couple of good beatings there and we have to rise to the occasion.

"Worcester are similar to ourselves in many ways. They play a lot of football in the backs and they’ve toughened up that forward core so it will be a tough but interesting game.”
