WORCESTERSHIRE CCC’s membership has topped the 4,000 mark for the 2015 campaign.

There has been a flurry of interest since the superb win over Somerset at New Road in Division One of the LV= County Championship.

It means that more than 300 new members have joined the County for the club’s special summer combining Worcestershire’s 150th anniversary year and being back in cricket’s top flight.

Memberships can still be purchased and incorporate the next home match for skipper Daryl Mitchell and his players against World Cup finalists New Zealand from May 14 to 17.

Worcestershire membership and ticketing manager Amy Francetti said: “After the fantastic win over Somerset, we have had a lot of interest in membership for the 2015 season. There is a real buzz and feel-good factor.

“The figures are up on 2013 and 2014 which is encouraging and we’ve received over 300 new members for this year.

“Being the 150th anniversary year and the team being back in Division One of the LV= County Championship has caught the imagination of people.

“Memberships are still available for 2015 and they do incorporate the tour game against New Zealand which is only just over a week away from starting.”

A premium membership via direct debit costs £224 and a club membership £174 (add £30 for any other payment method).

To purchase a membership, call the membership department on 01905-337921, visit the membership department in person on level one of The View at New Road or visit wccc.co.uk and purchase online.
