JOE Clarke is backing Worcestershire team-mate Tom Fell to put his current challenging spell behind him in the same way that the England Lions batsman says it took him "just one knock" to recapture his own best form.

Clarke continued his current rich vein out in the middle by hitting a memorable 124 not out off just 53 balls in the T20 Blast triumph over Durham Jets.

It followed on from two half-centuries earlier in the competition and two centuries against Kent and 93 not out against Gloucestershire in the County Championship.

Clarke achieved his current success after a testing start to 2017 and is convinced Fell will regain his touch soon enough.

The 21-year-old said: "I know Felly is a top-class player. He has shown it in County Championship Division One against the best attacks in the country.

"He scored three hundreds in Division One and everyone should not forget that.

"Tom is one of our best batters and it will be nice to see him back scoring runs like we know he can.

"Players go through bad runs and at the moment he is in first wicket down and the wickets have been doing a bit (in the Championship matches) and he has received some good balls.

"It will change because we all know he is that good a player.

"I was the same earlier this season. It took me just one knock to get out of it and that's the same for him.

"You are always wanting to be contributing to the team and he will be fine. He will come out the right side of it I'm sure.

"Then in the last remaining games hopefully he can put in some performances like we all know he can."
